The World Leaders Summit 2021, organized by the UN Global Compact, will be held on June 15 and 16 (Tuesday and Wednesday), 2021. The forum is a digital two-day 24-hour meeting of responsible businesses and organizations in each time zone and includes plenary sessions, regional meetings, performances, exhibitions and interactive networks. The Bulgarian perspective for the second consecutive year will be presented in a separate discussion session "Strategic Partnerships for Sustainability, Impact and Trust" on June 16 at 9:00 am.

The focus of the conversation will be the Strategic Guidelines of the Network 2021-2023 and their implementation, discussed by the leaders of the member companies and partners. Like a roadmap, they identify the important economic and social issues facing society and the possibilities for resolving them through collective action. The main highlights of the discussion are partnerships in education for its practical orientation and personalization, career guidance and value formation in young people through programs such as "Business teaches", "Profession Bazaar" and partnerships in giving as a driver of change through programs such as "Generous Tuesday” and the accelerator project of the BCause Foundation.

Participants in the conversation are Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”; Evgenia Peeva-Kirova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science; Elitsa Barakova, executive director of the Bcause Foundation and Ognyan Trayanov, chairman of the Bulgarian network and founder and owner of Technologica. The discussion will be moderated by the Bloomberg Bulgaria journalist Hristo Nikolov.

Bulgarian business will also be presented in the discussion "Innovation as a contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals in Eastern Europe" by Dimitar Tsotsorkov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Assarel-Medet. Business leaders from Turkey, Georgia, Serbia, Poland, Russia and Ukraine, led by Ukrainian journalist Olena Frolyak, will take part in the discussion.

Each of the 7 panelists will give their point of view on two issues:

  • How important is innovative thinking for transforming business operations and what else is needed to stimulate innovation so as to improve the sustainability of the environment and society?
  • How can we use multi-stakeholder partnerships for meaningful innovation?

The second discussion will be held n June 16, 2021 from 14.00-14.45 Bulgarian time. The inclusion of representatives of responsible business in Bulgaria in Leaders Forum 2021, together with Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General; Paul Polman, Vice President of the Global Compact; Julie Sweet, Accenture; Jean-Pascal Tricoir, Schneider Electric and other leaders of global companies, is a recognition of the active leadership of the Bulgarian network.
