On 1 October the official start of the new academic year for the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration was given in the Aula of SU “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The event was attended by new first-year and the continuing students, representatives of the Faculty’s academic management, academics and administration members of the faculty, leading partners of FEBA on the part of the business and others.

The speaker of the ceremony was Assoc. Prof. Boryana Bogdanova, PhD – academic staff member and Head of the Career Center.

Assoc. Prof. Teodor Sedlarski, PhD, Dean of FEBA, greeted everyone present at the event with the start of the new academic year and presented to the newly enrolled students the benefits which studying at Sofia University offers them of both gaining a solid theoretical foundation and getting the chance to work on real case studies provided by business and presented by top executives.

During the opening ceremony of the academic year leading representatives of the business declared their willing support of FEBA and its work. Greeting speeches were delivered by:

• Mark Proterow, Executive Director of Learning and Professional Development at the international professional organisation The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), congratulated the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration on the admission of the first 35 students in the Bachelor of English Program in Accounting , Finance and Digital Applications, which offers an internationally recognized certificate: ICAEW's Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB);
• Jock Nunan, Partner, Assurance Services Leader at PwC Bulgaria, congratulated the commencing students and wished them strong will and diligence for a hugely successful year;
• Stefan Dimitrov, Managing Director of TMF Group Bulgaria, thanked the Faculty of Economics for the partnership and confirmed the commitment for further cooperation;
• Anna Dineva, Head of Global Finance Services - Sofia at Experian Bulgaria, congratulated the students on the opening of the academic year and wished them success in their studies.

Students were also informed of the opportunity they are given to practice various sports at Sofia University as part of the compulsory program.

The president of the Student Business Club Iliya Dechkov also greeted his colleagues and told them about the Welcome Week initiative for introducing new students to the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

The opening of the school year continued in the building of FEBA where the new students were given their student books and were introduced to the "White Book of the Freshman" which contains with useful information about student life. The faculty building welcomed them with its newly decorated entrance, designed and executed by InfoGraffiti.
