On April 4, 2025, students from the Master’s program “Economics and Management of Public Resources” took part in a study visit to Sofia Municipality. The event was organized within the framework of the course “Practicum in Financial Management in the Public Sector” and aimed to familiarize participants with real-world management practices in the field of local self-government.

The meeting was hosted by Mrs. Dimitrinka Dimitrova – Director of the “Economy and Commercial Activities” Directorate, who presented the main activities of the department related to the management and oversight of municipal enterprises. Special attention was given to the software solutions used to support the analysis and monitoring of the financial reports of these enterprises.

During the discussion, key challenges facing the public administration were also addressed – the shortage of qualified personnel, the need for ongoing training, and the complexities related to funding social activities at the municipal level.

The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to see how theoretical knowledge is applied in a real administrative environment and to engage with experts who work daily in service of the public.
