She will work on her dissertation on quantitative analysis while working at the bank on real case studies in the sphere of large databases analysis. Gloria will combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience, taking advantage of access to bank resources as well as of the mentoring support of experts from different departments.

"The university environment can be a generator of good ideas for business, while we, in turn, can offer undergraduate and postgradute students work on real business challenges. Our new program is the next in a range of initiatives of the bank, along with Think Tank, Elevator Lab, Bootcamp and Innovation Garden, with which we are looking for solutions in the field of innovation”, said Daniel Alexiev, Head of the Digital Banking and Innovations Department at Raiffeisenbank.

The Industry Funded PhD Program is the second such collaboration between Raiffeisenbank and the FEBA of Sofia University following the Think Tank 1.0 Big Data Challenge. During the winter semester, the students in the "Big Business and Finance Modeling" program worked on a practical case study in the field of credit card-related database analysis and the best solutions the students presented to the Board of the Bank in February this year.
