On May 18, 2023, the final conference of the INNOAIR project was held in Sofia, with the participation of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". During the event, emphasis was placed on the possibilities of implementing innovative approaches in urban mobility as a tool for improving air quality, reducing carbon emissions and traffic in urban environments. The event was attended by experts of the Urban Innovative Action programe, through which the INNOAIR project is financed, as well as representatives of academic, private and public organisations.

The Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality, Doncho Barbalov, who is also the head of the project, emphasised that a significant part of the achieved results are demonstrated for the first time in Bulgaria, and some are innovations at the European level. This makes the project a suitable platform for the development of cooperation between municipalities and cities and the transfer of experience, knowledge and information. The deputy mayor of the capital city emphasised on the active support of citizens and non-governmental organisations throughout the entire period of project implementation, which gave them the opportunity to generate ideas themselves and participate in the decision-making process.

The team of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University presented the results of their work within the project, committing to provide the developed models to other cities in the country and abroad. In addition, the final conference of INNOAIR reinforced the common understanding that the difficult issues of urban planning can and should be solved collectively, with the support and participation of all stakeholders, and the key to everything is innovation.
