As part of the “Green Digital Hub for Startups and Social Enterprises” initiative, supported by the Erasmus+ programme, a new series of inspiring examples of sustainable entrepreneurship among young people has been launched. The goal of the series is to highlight real-life stories of young individuals who, through innovation and dedication, are building sustainable businesses that make a positive impact on society and the environment.
The first episode features Kostadin Georgiev – Co-founder of the BuddyGuard platform.
The project offers a secure and convenient solution for pet owners by connecting them with trusted sitters across Bulgaria. The idea was born during Kostadin’s university years, when he was looking for a part-time job. Today, just a few years later, BuddyGuard has been awarded Best Youth Startup in Bulgaria for 2024.
Kostadin's story is a testament to how entrepreneurial spirit, digital tools, and peer support can empower young people to create real value and drive social change. The video highlights the key steps he took and the valuable lessons he shares about turning an idea into reality.
The second episode of the “Success Stories” series, developed under the Green Digital Hub for Startups and Social Enterprises project, features Petar Stoyanov – founder of the Truckspedia platform.
After years of professional experience in the logistics industry in Germany and Austria, Petar made a conscious decision to return to Bulgaria with the clear goal of applying his knowledge to modernize the logistics sector. Truckspedia is a platform that facilitates interaction between transport providers and clients, improving service efficiency and transparency.
In the interview, Petar shares his journey, including the tough but deliberate decision to decline a €50,000 investment offer in order to preserve his freedom to develop the project his own way. Today, Truckspedia supports hundreds of companies and creates new jobs, proving that innovation in traditional sectors is not only possible but necessary.
A quote from the interview that stands out:
"We don't need to change the world. What matters is seeing what's already out there and making it better."
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and aims to equip young entrepreneurs with practical skills through the implementation of digital and sustainable business models.
