On 12 February in the Aula Magna at Sofia University Prof. Jacques Malherbe, Professor Emeritus of the University of Leuven and member of its CRIDES Research center delivered a guest-lecture on the “Drifts in tax law” topic. The event was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at SU and IFA Bulgaria. The initiative was supported by the Sofia Bar Association. A special guest at the lecture was the ambassador of Belgium in Bulgaria – H.E. Francois Bontemps.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Business Administration, welcomed the attendants of the lecture and thanked Prof. Malherbe for the visit, Assist. Prof. Dr. Savina Mihaylova – Goleminova from FEBA for organizing the lecture, Valentin Savov from IFA Bulgaria and lawyer Ivaylo Danov, Chairman of Sofia Bar Association for the support.

Mr. Ivaylo Danov said that SBA has already been supporting many initiatives at the Faculty of Law at Sofia University and that they look forward to a partnership on topics of common interest with the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

Mr. Valentin Savov also greeted the attendants and presented key moments in the biography of Prof. Malherbe with a focus on his teaching and research.

The lecture and the brief discussion afterwards was followed by a networking session and a cocktail party organized by the SBA.
