Assoc. Prof. Andrey Vassilev, PhD

Andrey Vassilev has extensive experience in economic research, modelling and forecasting. He has more than 10 years of experience as Head of the Macroeconomic Research Department at the Bulgarian National Bank, where he organized and participated in the preparation of various macroeconomic analyses and economic policy assessments, as well as in the development of economic models for forecasting and policy analysis. His research interests include macroeconomic modelling for small open economies, spatial economics and applied econometrics.

Prior to joining the Bulgarian National Bank, Andrey was Head of the Macroeconomic Modelling and Policy Department at the Agency for Economic Analysis and Forecasting at the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance. Andrey Vassilev holds a PhD in applied mathematics from Sofia University and has taught courses in macroeconomics, spatial economics and econometrics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University. He has also studied Computer Science and Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Sofia University.
