Aim of the programme:

It demonstrates how economic principles are used in the analysis of the effectiveness of legal norms, and vice versa - how legal norms and the features of its implementation influence the behaviour of economic agents. This approach of linking the analysis of observed economic processes with the state and changes in the legal framework has a long tradition in both economic and legal theory, because it defines the maintenance of high entrepreneurial activity, the achievement of sustainable economic growth, the protection of civil liberties, the definition of property rights, and much more. The selection of of subjects and topics is such as to provide knowledge of both economic processes and their relationship with the existing legal framework. Due to the specificity of the programme, the content of the curriculum has been developed jointly by lecturers from the Faculty of Economics And Business Administration and the Faculty of Law of Sofia University and does not repeat the content of existing courses in other Bachelor and Master programmes of both faculties. Classes are full-time and are held after 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day long on some weekends.

Graduates of the programme obtain the qualification of Master of Economics and Law. After successful graduation, in addition to a Master's degree in PF Economics, graduating non-economist students can continue continue their studies in one of the more specialised Master's programmes, offered by the Faculty of Economics and obtain a second Master's degree.
