In October and November, the Master’s program “Energy Markets and Services” welcomed guest lecturers from the energy sector. As tradition, the program regularly hosts representatives of leading companies and key institutions.

On 28 October, Kaloyan Staykov, Chair of the Management Board of the Energy Management Institute (EMI), delivered a guest lecture. Mr. Staykov spoke on “Price Regulation in Bulgaria” followed by a discussion with the students.

On 11 November, Eng. Stoyan Manolov, Managing Director of M-Gas Ltd. — a leading natural gas trading company in Bulgaria and the region — gave a lecture on “Natural Gas Trading in the Region and in Bulgaria”. He also presented an overview of the current state of gas flows in Southeast Europe.

Also on 11 November, Remina Aleksieva, researcher at the Net-Zero Lab of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and expert in the Twin2Green project, delivered a guest lecture. She presented the latest Net-Zero Lab analysis titled “Research and Innovation in Support of Energy Technologies: Opportunities and Challenges for Bulgaria” and discussed with the students the key challenges to the integration of new technologies into the energy markets of Europe and Bulgaria.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Ivanov, Chair of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) from 2015 to 2025, also joined as a guest lecturer on 11 November. Assoc. Prof. Ivanov outlined the development of the regulatory agency from its establishment to the present day, highlighting major challenges and achievements over the past decade.
