Master's programme: Gamification in Business, Public and Non-governmental Sectors

Aim of the program: Gamification is the use of elements from games and game design in non-game situations. The prediction is that gamification, in addition to education, permeates business and many other areas of human activity.

The Master's programme Gamification in Business, Public and Non-Governmental sector aims to train highly qualified professionals who can successfully develop businesses or activities in the public and NGO sector through gamification in a rapidly changing technological environment. The programme focuses on the use of games in combination with technology, new media and the internet to communicate a company's value proposition or organisation to its own staff, to customers and to society at large.

The courses cover all the key elements of gamification such as strategy, development, implementation and activation among primarily youth audiences.

Additional emphasis is placed on the application of the knowledge and skills acquired through technology in the digital world. The programme also aims to create an understanding of a strong theoretical background in the field and to give learners a foundation for continuous self-improvement in practice.

The Master's programme is focused at managers at various levels, art directors, content managers and graduates of all disciplines who wish to develop their careers in the digital age. The target group of the master's programme is also educators who have completed a bachelor's degree and want to use the methods of gamification in the educational process; professionals who deal with youthgroups (psychologists, educators, economists, managers); specialists in the management of human resources; specialists in state and municipal administration, etc.

Graduates of the programme receive a qualification Master of Management - Gamification.

The programme gives students the opportunity to prepare for working in the economic sphere, to specialize in a certain class of methods used in the virtual communication and management and marketing strategies. The programme is also suitable for beginners or active managers to enrich their knowledge of management, marketing, organizational behavior, more effective personnel and resource management.

Graduates of the Master's programme can be managers of organizations of various sizes and specialists in the gamification of the organization, dealing with strategic management, planning, human resources management, оperational management, etc. Successful graduates can hold managerial and administrative positions in business organizations, middle and high levels of public administration, service sector organizations; art directors and content managers in marketing and full service advertising agencies; content managers who develop game models, concepts for audio-visual and managers of creative teams in the gaming industry; managers in the arts; to work as consultants; to continue their studies and research in doctoral studies; to be lecturers in different levels of higher education; to work in research and development units.

The duration of study is 1 year (2 semesters), which includes:

  • Basic compulsory and professional training - compulsory and elective courses, building up the professional specialization of a master in management with emphasis on gamification.
  • Basic equivalence training - those admitted who аre non-specialists, are required to undergo additional, two specific courses offered as compulsory electives.
  • The possibility of studying additional subjects in optional form. The workload and credits for these courses are not counted towards the implementation of the curriculum.

The training ends with a state examination. Sessions for the state examination are in July and September.
