The Department offers three B. A. Programmes: in French Studies, Italian Studies and Romanian Studies.

The Programme in French Studies prepares specialists in French language, French linguistics, French literature and cultural studies of French-speaking areas. The B.A. students can acquire teacher qualification as well. The Department also offers two M. A. Francophonie, Multilingualism and Intercultural Mediation, Programmes in French: Translation and French Studies.

The Programme in Italian Studies offers a B. A. programme in Italian. Its graduates qualify as specialists in Italian literature and language and as teachers of Italian. There is also an MA Programme in Anthropological Studies of the Mediterranean and the Balkans: Italy-Bulgaria.

The B. A. programme in Romanian Studies prepares specialists in Romanian literature and Romanian language. The education directly relates to Balkan and Romance Studies in literature, history and linguistics.

All three programmes include opportunities for study abroad.
