  • Coordination compounds of biologically active ligands (drugs, antibiotics, enzyme inhibitors, etc.): synthesis and structural characterization
  • Coordination properties and application of macrocyclic compounds (crown ethers and calixarenes)
  • Biochemical toxicology and toxins (influence of metal ions / metal complexes on different enzymes; in vitro and in vivo studies on toxicity and detoxification properties of metal complexes; snake venom toxins – hemotoxins, toxicity of phospholipase A2)
  • Analytical toxicology (analytical procedures and instrumental chromatographic methods for analyses of drugs and poisons in different matrices)
  • Application of instrumental chromatographic methods and mass-spectrometry for analyses of biologically active compounds
  • Theoretical (quantum-chemical) methods for structure and property description of the studied compounds (ligands and complexes)
