Sofia University was named after St. Kliment in acknowledgement of his deeds and personality. Being an ideal for a Renaissance educator and scientist long before the Renaissance itself, he dedicated his life to the development of the Bulgarian culture.

St. Kliment Ohridski’s writing is collected in the book ‘St. Kliment Ohridski. Speeches and Services’, which contains 531 pages of copies of the original Xc. texts in Old Bulgarian with their translation in contemporary Bulgarian. St. Kliment is considered to be the literary Old Bulgarian, and his writing is diverse and rich.

The 17 services and 27 speeches were uncovered one by one during the ages, so we to have the collection today. Sofia University continues the tradition of the Literary School of Ohrid through the ages, acknowledging its renowned scholar’s deeds and writing by publishing this collection for the 120th anniversary.
