Incunabula from ХVІ and ХVІІ c. were exposed for the first time during the exhibition. The books have been collected since the very establishment of the library in 1988.
The rare exemplar collection was started by the first rector Alexander Balan who insisted on gathering valuable issues. The collection includes the first printed issue of Archimedes’s papers, 1544, “Linguae Slavicae” – one of the very first manuscripts on Slavonic studies, “History of the Thracian Kings” – a fundamental piece for the Thracian Studies, among the others.
