Public lecture delivered by the Ambassador of Russia, H.E. Mr Yuriy Isakov

The lecture was held in the Aula, Sofia University, organized by the Faculty Student Council of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology and the Student Diplomatic Club, with the Bulgarian Diplomatic Association

The lecture was on "Priorities of the Russian foreign policy and perspectives for Bulgarian-Russian relationship development".

The event was attended by foreign countries ambassadors, Bulgarian diplomats, politicians, representatives of the academia and of non-governmental organizations.

The lecture was open by Eliana Ivanova, Deputy Head of the Student Diplomatic Club, who presented the biography of the Ambassador of Russia, H.E. Mr Isakov.

The ambassador started the lecture by clarification on the three main priorities of the Russian foreign policy: the relations with the Eurasian Economic Community and Community of Independent States, the dialogue with the EU and the relations with the USA, and the anti-missile defence and the Magnitsky Act, in particular.

He also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between Bulgaria and Russia in all spheres: politics, religion, economics, culture, arts, sharing that, regrettably, the economic situation is not favourable to altruism in cultural events.

After the lecture, the Ambassador answered questions on the relations with the USA, China and EU, as well as about the South Stream and the situation in Serbia.
