The ceremony was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Assoc. Prof. Odjakova. She reminded the graduates to be proud with the diploma received from Sofia University, which is well accepted around the world.

Prof. Pankov also addressed the students and advised them to thank their parents.

Radoslav Aleksandrov who graduated first with excellence also addressed the graduates.

As part of the ceremony, the Honorary Blue Ribbon Insignia of Sofia University was awarded to lecturers of the Faculty of Biology:

- Prof. Iskra Ivanova, General and Industrial Microbiology;

- Assoc. Prof. Mariela Odjakova, Dean and lecturer with the Department of Biochemistry;

- Assoc. Prof. Anna Kuyumdzieva, General and Industrial Microbiology;

Ani Doycheva, employee of the Faculty, was also awarded the Honorary Insignia.

The awards were given by Prof. Pankov.
