On December 9 and 10, Utilities magazine and the Center for Educational Services (CEC) at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” conducted an online training on “European Green Deal - Energy and Climate Policies”. More than 30 representatives of energy traders, industrial energy consumers and others took part in the training. The training is part of the initiatives related to the master's program "Energy Markets and Services" at the Faculty of Economics at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”.
The aim of the seminar was to present the framework of the Green Deal in Europe, together with its aspects and the latest decisions of the climate conference. In the first day, the program focused on policies, regulatory framework and funding opportunities. The effects for Bulgaria, the specific legislative documents and the financial instruments available for the country were also presented.
The second day focused on the main processes in the energy sector - production, distribution and consumption of electricity. The electricity sector was seen as one of the main factors for the decarbonisation of the economy.
