On November 4th, at 12:30 p.m., the Fintech Case Competition of Paysafe Group started within the course “Financial Technologies and Digital Banking” with lecturer Assoc. Dr. Deyan Radev. The competition is exclusively aimed at students of the IV year of the bachelor's program “Accounting, Finance and Digital Applications in English”. As part of the presentation of the competition, a special Women in Fintech session was held, in which the ladies from the Paysafe team told their inspiring personal stories and gave invaluable advice on the professional path of the future economists from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

The competition was presented by Paysafe Group managers Yulia Stepanchuk, Rafaela Aprahamyan, Natalie Nedelcheva, Dimitar Ivanov and Tony Andonov and will focus on aspects of digital identity and its application in consumer protection and business processes in a fintech organization.

Within 4 weeks, students in groups of three or four will be tasked with analyzing and developing solutions related to digital identity in four areas:

  • Regulatory compliance monitoring
  • Risk Management
  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep fake fraud prevention
  • Development of the product line and improvement of the services provided by digital wallets

The final of the competition will be held on 2nd December, 2022, at the Sofia headquarters of Paysafe Group, during which the teams will present their solutions and will be evaluated by a jury consisting of representatives of Paysafe Group and Dr. Radev. The three best teams will be ranked and awarded, and the opportunities that the company presents for young professionals will be presented.

In the final part of the lecture, Paysafe managers Yulia Stepanchuk, Rafaela Aprahamyan and Natalie Nedelcheva talked about their career path, what brought them (and kept them) in Bulgaria, how they manage the balance between career and personal life and gave advice to our students for their future career development.
