On February 7, 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” welcomed 8 representatives from the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. The delegation included the head of the International Cooperation Department, Ms. Agata Wojcik, as well as administrative staff from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences. The main purpose of the visit was the exchange of experience and good practices related to improving competencies in working with international students.


The presentation of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Todor Yalamov, Deputy Dean of Research, Innovation and Projects and Head of MBA Strategic Management, Assoc. Prof. Sonia Georgieva, Head of the double bachelor's program between FEBA and the University of Lille (France), Boryana Raynova, inspector of international activities at FEBA, Prof. Rosalina Engels, deputy dean “Master's programs, doctoral students, mobility”, and Petya Ruseva, inspector of Bulgarian and foreign students at the Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts. In the second half of the day, Prof. Dr. Boryana Bogdanova, deputy dean “Partnerships with business and graduate student community” and head of the Career Center of FEBA, gave a lecture on “New approaches and educational activities in the field of career development”.


The next day, with the assistance of Ch. Assist. Prof. Dr. Atanas Kazakov from the Faculty of Geology and Geography, the guests from Katowice took a tourist tour in the center of Sofia, during which they got to know the main cultural and historical monuments of the capital.


The visit continued with a meeting at the Rectory of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with the representatives of the “International Cooperation” department Mikaela Stancheva and Antonio Stoichkov, who shared practical experience in the administration of Erasmus students at the central level.


The visit ended with a warm reception by Prof. Madlen Danova, dean of the Faculty of Classical and New Philologies, who also supported the idea of searching for new ways and approaches in the work and administration of foreign students and teachers.
