On the International Women's Day, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski” and Zonta Club International officially started their cooperation.

Within 2022, the partners envisage:

• advocating for women's rights in the workplace, prevention of violence at school and in the workplace, and others in the curriculum of bachelor's and master's programs;
• creation of a specialized training module on women's rights at the Center for Educational Services at Sofia University;
• inclusion of the topic in the master's program "Responsible and Sustainable Governance";
• extracurricular forms of student engagement with women's rights topics.

"With the signing of today's partnership agreement, we want to emphasize that the topic of women's rights is extremely important for our community - teachers, researchers, students, partners. Since 2016, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” follows the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, and in September 2021 the Academic Council adopted a Plan of Activities to Ensure Gender Equality. I believe that through our partnership with Zonta Club International we will strengthen the leadership of the University in this important topic for society", said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev at the signing of the document.

Bistra Ilieva, Area Director, Area 05, District 30 ат Zonta International, shared: "One of the main goals of Zonta is "No to Violence" and "Yes - to Education". Through service and advocacy we work to empower women and therefore the partnership with the Faculty of Economics is a very important step forward. Our programs for the development of women's leadership skills, including our members, friends and young ladies, will be certified and together we will support their economic and social realization.
