On November 19, 2024, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) and the Regional Department of Education (RDE) for Sofia City organized an inaugural meeting for principals and teachers from vocational high schools to discuss integrating sustainability as a new skill and qualification across various vocational disciplines. The meeting brought together nearly 50 experts from the RDE, school principals, deputy principals, and senior teachers from various schools in Sofia.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova, Vice-Dean for "Sustainability, Empowerment, and Engagement" at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, shared the faculty's experience in developing specialized educational content, adapting the learning environment, and fostering new partnerships in this direction. She emphasized that over the next five years, sustainability as a key professional competence is expected to become integral across all vocational fields. Secondary schools need to adjust their curricula and practices to prepare young professionals and citizens capable of finding solutions in a dynamic business environment and amid a climate crisis.
During the meeting, Mrs. Maya Gesheva, Principal of the National High School in Finance and Business, a partner of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, extended her greetings to the attendees and shared best practices in high school education on sustainable development and initiatives in which the school participates as part of its partnership with the faculty.
