At a meeting held on 13 January 2026, the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) approved the appointment of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova as Head of the Department of Industrial Economics and Management. She takes over the leadership of the department from the previous Head - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova is an established academic lecturer and researcher in the field of sustainable and responsible management. She has been a member of the Department of Industrial Economics and Management since the autumn of 2020 and is the Director of the Master’s programme “Responsible and Sustainable Governance”, as well as Managing Director of ESG Lab and ESG Academy – centres for practical training and expertise in environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects of the economy.
The Department of Industrial Economics and Management provides education to students in bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes related to the economics and management of key sectors of the national economy. The academic staff of the department carries out active research activities and participates in national and international projects, as well as in expert analyses and consultancy.
The Faculty Council expressed its appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev for his contribution to the development of the department and wished Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova success in her new academic and managerial role.
