Ani Filipova, Regional Chief Operating Officer for Citibank Treasury and Trade Solutions in Asia gave an online lecture to students studying the discipline "Leadership in a Multicultural Environment" on March 25, 2021.

Mrs. Filipova offered the students a structured model for building sustainable leadership: To be self-aware (to know your strengths and weaknesses, to constantly change and learn); To know your work well and to give the team members the opportunity to participate fully with ideas and suggestions; To set a personal example and to take responsibility; To make timely and situation-based decisions; To remember that the customer is at the heart of everything; In your work to be guided by principles and values ; To know your team and to be a catalyst for their well-being; To be open and transparent; To challenge the status quo.

Ani Filipova shared: "Leadership is not equal to a position in the organization. The leader unites, motivates and develops". The guest lecturer presented her international experience and discussed the challenges of multicultural management. "No matter how difficult it is to you sometimes, despite everything, you have to be able to listen to your co-workers and smile. And let that smile be real!", added Ani Filipova.

Ani Filipova is an International banking executive with more than 25 years of banking experience. Forward looking with an entrepreneurial mind focusing on digital transformation, innovation, and culture. Adept in handling multicultural, multi-ethnic, and multi-generational environment working with people across all disciplines and at all levels throughout the organization. Currently Ani is the Regional Chief Operating Officer for Citibank Treasury and Trade Solutions in Asia. She has been with Citi for 21 years working in Bulgaria, London, Singapore and Hong Kong where she has held roles spanning product and relationship management, operations and audit. Originally, she joined as a founding member of Citi Bulgaria in 2000 and the Global Transaction Services Head for the first 5 years of the franchise. Ani joined Citi from Raiffeisenbank where she held a variety of leadership roles in both Bulgaria and Romania in operations and branch network management.
