On December 5, at 4 p.m. in hall 200 of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” Mrs. Dilyana Slavova, Chairwoman of the Committee on Foreign Policy in the European Economic and Social Committee in the period 2015-2020, delivered a public lecture on “Implementation of the chapters on trade and sustainable development in the European Union's free trade agreements trade” to the students of the “Economics and Finance” and “Business Management”, II year, which was also attended by lecturers from the Faculty.
During the lecture, Mrs. Slavova outlined the place and role of the European Union in global trade, the specifics of trade negotiations with third countries in terms of setting a wider range of issues, which include shared values for sustainable development, as well as specific aspects of trade agreements already negotiated and under negotiation. In the framework of the subsequent discussion, the present students and fellow teachers asked their questions about the positions of civil society in the negotiation process in the field of the Common Trade Policy of the European Union with third countries, Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone and the Schengen Area and the impact on the country's trade relations.
At the end of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Zlatinov, head of the Department of Economics, thanked Mrs. Dilyana Slavova and the participants in the public lecture for the meaningful discussions on current topics that directly affect our economy.
