Aim of the programme:

To educate qualified specialists in the modern forms, methods and tools for analysis and decision making in the field of customs and tax activities, and the basic knowledge and skills in economics and finance will be acquired by non-economists through the core courses. With the specialisation courses, the programme aims to broaden students' training in EU tax and customs policy, tax law and the control of EU funds, as well as on customs regimes and procedures. Graduates of the programme are awarded the qualification of Master in Customs and Tax Control. After successful graduation, in addition to a Master's degree in professional field of Economics, graduating non-economics students, can continue their studies in one of the more specialized Master's degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and obtain a second Master's degree.

Possible career opportunities for the graduates of the programme.

Managers of economic and administrative departments in the Customs Agency and the National Revenue Agency; analytical specialists in customs commodity control in costums directories, experts in the Customs Agency, customs brokers, inspectors in tax and insurance agencies, including the subdivisions of the NRA, consultants and entrepreneurs in the field of customs and tax control; analysts in economic and financial structures in the field of state administration and the private sector; lecturers in higher education and vocational education and training.

The duration of the training is 1 year (2 semesters) and is carried out in part-time form only on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter and summer semester.

The training covers:

  • Specialised training in customs and tax control, customs regimes and procedures and their digital aspects, tax law and tax process, control of EU funds, budgetary accounting, financial reporting and public sector policies.
  • Basic training in economic and financial disciplines, building the professional specialization of a master in economics and finance for students who do not have a bachelor's or other master's degree in Economics or Business Administration.
  • Specialist training in personal finance, institutional economics, labour market and industrial relations, European policies and programmes, corporate economics, social protection and social security, and human resource management in a free elective form.
  • Practical training to develop skills in solving specific problems and cases in the field of customs and tax control, understanding legal documents (laws, regulations, ordinances) and working with customs and tax documentation.

Students can choose to graduate by passing a state examination (during the state examination sessions in July and September) or by developing a master's thesis (in November and March).
