Programme overview
The main objective of the programme is to prepare highly qualified professionals with in-depth knowledge and skills in accounting and finance. With a throughout application of digital tools to solve financial and accounting cases, problems and issues during the whole education, students acquire the ability to overcome their future career issues.
The Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and Digital Applications is accredited by ICAEW (the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales), a UK professional body.
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme "Accounting, Finance and Digital Applications" is part of the University affiliation program of the CFA Institute. For the first time Bulgaria is presented by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ” as a partner on the website of the most renowned and influential international organization in the world in the field of financial and investment analysis. The benefits for students enrolled in Accounting, Finance and Digital Applications” include seven scholarships for a free CFA Certificate exam awarded every year. The participation in the affiliation program of the CFA Institute is a guarantee for the quality and actuality of the teaching methods and materials. The cooperation presupposes annual monitoring of the taught topics according to the novelties in the issues included in the examinations for obtaining the Certificate of Financial Analyst (CFA).

Features
The first two semesters cover the fundamental common courses of the bachelor programmes of the faculty, including: microeconomics, macroeconomics, fundamentals of management, quantitative methods, business mathematics, Introduction to informatics, etc.
The aim here is to prepare students with a solid background of the foundation of the economics and management theories.
The remaining semesters are concentrated on the specialised courses, such as: financial accounting and reporting, management accounting, digital accounting and banking, financial technology (finTech), corporate finance, derivatives and capital markets, investment analysis, personal finance, behavioural finance, financial institutions and regulations, etc.
The courses are compulsory, optional and facultative.
One of the important distinctive features of the programme is the focus on the acquisition of soft skills by students. This is achieved through courses like: management and leadership skills; communication, presentation and teamworking; interpersonal communication; adaptability and stress management.
Assessment
Students are assessed according to the requirements of each course, explained in its syllabus. However, the general assessment process consists of in-class tests and coursework during the semester, and a final exam at the end of the semester.
At the end of the fourth year, students are required to sit a final overall exam (commonly known as “state exam”).
Degree and diploma
Upon successful completion of the programme, students are granted a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and Digital Application.
Competences and Careers
Successfully graduate students could be employed as financial analysts, accountants, taxation specialists, assistants to auditors, business analysts, lecturers, economists, financial market analysts, financial communicators, business and financial institutions relations specialists, treasury analysts, etc.
They could be able to apply accounting and financial technologies and the acquired competences and skill in the financial and or accounting department of businesses, financial institutions, manufacturing or service industries; government and non-government organisations, profit or not-for profit organisations, international companies, small or large companies.
