The master program “Pedagogy of deviant behaviour” provides training of students with a Bachelor degree in ”Pedagogy", Social Pedagogy” and other relevant pedagogy fields (specialists) or different from “Pedagogy", Social Pedagogy” and other relevant pedagogy fields (non-specialists).

 

The program is oriented toward mastering knowledge and acquiring skills and competencies of prevention and correction of deviant and delinquent behaviour in different social-pedagogical government and non-government institutions.

 

Study goal: students to acquire and improve professional competencies for working with children, adolescents and adults with deviant and delinquent behaviour.

 

Study tasks (expected results) – at the end of their study students are expected:

 

  • To deepen their theoretical and practical competencies in the field of pedagogy of deviant behaviour;
  • To acquire skills for quick orientation in different problem situations and to choose adequate methods for working with people deviating from moral and law norms;
  • To acquire skills for establishing cooperation with government and non-government institutions and organizations working within the system for prevention, correction and social rehabilitation;
  • To acquire skills for analysis and implementation of practical researches in the field of preventive and corrective pedagogy.

 

 

 

Professional competencies

 

The training provides opportunities for students to acquire the following social-pedagogical competencies:

 

  • Diagnostics of deviation from moral and law norms and the opportunities for their correction;
  • Effective communication with children and youths for correction of deviant and delinquent behaviour;
  • Stimulation of personal incentives of children and youths to overcome deviant and delinquent behaviour;
  • Interaction with factors of micro and macro environment in order to overcome deviation among children and youth;
  • Organization of system for prevention and correction work on different levels – school, municipal and regional level;
  • Interaction between institutions working with children and family at risk.

 

 

 

Professional realization

 

Graduates in this master program can work in government and non-government sector, in comprehensive and special schools, in institutions within the system for resocialization on municipal and national level, in different educational and social-pedagogical organizations (commissions for dealing with antisocial behaviour of minors; orphanages, homes for temporary accommodation; Children pedagogical rooms; social-pedagogical boarding schools; educational boarding schools; correction facilities; probation services; community alternative forms for prevention and correction of deviant and delinquent behaviour and special institutions). The graduates can work as educators, pedagogues, pedagogical councillors; inspectors; assistants, experts, coordinators and organizers of preventive and corrective activities aimed at children and youth deviant and delinquent behaviour.
