The Bulgarian Business and Child Rights Academy is being organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and UNICEF in Bulgaria. The third national capacity building programme on child rights and business will provide an overview of the new developments and changes in the EU legislation relevant to the impact of business on children.

It will build upon companies’ social investments, ESG reporting and focus on their contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Renowned Bulgarian experts will present practical tools and guidelines, which can help to increase business' positive impact on children's welfare and integrate children's rights into corporate policies, business processes and non-financial reports.

 

Module 1: Children's rights and business principles, online session: 26-27 April 2022

The first global universally applicable Principles that provide opportunities for companies to take active action to protect and support children's rights in the workplace, in the marketplace and in the community. They are built on existing standards, initiatives and best practices and seek to present a complete and consistent policy in which businesses can maximize the positive impacts and minimize the negative effects of their business on children.

 

Module 2: UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development and Business Contribution, Online Session 19-20 May 2022

The UN Sustainable Development Goals help companies align the company strategies with global priorities. The training covers a wide range of sustainable development topics related to companies - such as poverty, health, education, climate change and environmental pollution.

 

Module 3: UNICEF and Business: Shared Partnerships, online session: 9-10 June 2022

Worldwide, UNICEF and business are building and implementing partnership projects that contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. They are inspired by UNICEF's mandate to protect the rights of all children and identify the different ways in which the private sector influences children: as a provider of goods and services; employer; a good corporate citizen; a source of technology, innovation and funding, and an advocate in society.

 

Who can join:

The program is open to specialists in the field of corporate social responsibility, human resources, healthcare, social sphere, education, law, finance, management; from business, public administration and the civil sector.

 

How to apply:

The spring edition 2022 of the Academy will be held online. Anyone interested can apply until 23:59 on April 22, 2022 by filling out the registration form.
