On July 30, 2024, students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", who are medalists from sports competitions, officially handed over their trophies for display at the Showcase of Glory in front of the Dean's office. The event was attended by the medalists Aleksa Stoilova, Kaloyan Mitov, Yordan Rangelov, as well as their coach, Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Venelina Tsvetkova (Department of Sports, Department of Sports Games and Mountain Sports at Sofia University), and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev.
During the meeting, the students and their professors discussed the significance of sports for the all-round development of young people and the important role of sports in education at FEBA. Some of the students are recipients of scholarships from the Association of Graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, which, together with the Department of Sports and the management of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, awards the most outstanding students in sports at the beginning of this calendar year. The medalists from FEBA, their competitions, and achievements are:
- Aleksa Stoilova, "Economics and Finance", third year of study. Achievements: 1st place in women's cricket, 5th place in team alpine skiing (women);
- Kaloyan Mitov, "Accounting, Finance, and Digital Applications", successfully passed the state exam. Achievements: 1st place in 50 m backstroke (men), 2nd place in 100 m backstroke (men), 2nd place in mixed relay freestyle, 3rd place in team competition (men);
- Yordan Rangelov, "Business Administration", third year of study. Achievements: 1st place in football.
During the meeting, the National University Table Tennis Championship Cup, held in October 2023, was also displayed. The women's table tennis team won second place. The team includes Angelina Arnaudova, a student from the Master's program "Business Administration – Human Resources Development".
