Forty-five participants took part in the Seventh Summer School "Energy Management," which was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" on August 28th and 29th. The event was organized by Utilities magazine in collaboration with the Center for Educational Services at FEBA. All participants successfully completed the two-day course and received certificates issued by Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
Eighteen lecturers participated in this year's edition of the Summer School, covering a wide range of topics related to energy.
The Seventh Summer School "Energy Management" was supported by sponsors such as the Electricity System Operator, OMV Petrom, M-Gas, ROITI, the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange, the National Electric Company, Kozloduy NPP New Builds, as well as the partners AES Bulgaria, TOKI, Eldrive, and Vertis.
Thanks to the support of sponsors and partners, students, Ph.D. candidates, and young professionals were able to participate in the event for free.
The opening of the Summer School was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Utilities magazine; Mr. Anton Adamov, Deputy Executive Director of the Electricity System Operator (ESO); Mrs. Gergana Manolova, Director of International Cooperation and Business Relations at M-Gas; and Mr. Ventsislav Topuzov, CEO and Co-founder of ROITI.
In their addresses to the participants, they highlighted the importance of developing knowledge and skills in energy and industry and reaffirmed their organizations' commitment to educational initiatives. The company representatives pointed out the active role of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in developing sectoral knowledge and invited participants to explore job opportunities within their companies. The event provided an excellent opportunity for participants to establish new contacts and engage in informal conversations, where industry leaders met with young professionals to exchange knowledge and interests.
During the opening of the Summer School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev also presented several master's programs at FEBA, including "Energy Markets and Services" and the new English-language program, created in collaboration with the Faculty of Physics, which is pending accreditation from the International Atomic Energy Agency—"Nuclear Technologies, Management, and Innovations".
