Since 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University has been collaborating with the Bucharest University of Economic Studies based on a signed agreement. As part of the established partnership, students from the MBA Energy master's program were welcomed in Sofia by Dr. Mariya Trifonova, Chief Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the "Energy Markets and Services" master's program. The purpose of the visit was to exchange knowledge, and experience, and create valuable professional contacts.

The MBA Energy program at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies is similar in the profile of students and content to the "Energy Markets and Services" program offered by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Last year, the two programs exchanged lecturers, and in June 2024, Romanian colleagues visited Bulgaria for a week. The guests had the opportunity to meet with current students and alumni specializing in energy economics from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

During the visit, joint tours were organized to strategic energy facilities in Bulgaria, including the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, the State Enterprise Radioactive Waste, the Momina Klisura Hydroelectric Power Plant, and the Belmeken Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Plant. To gain in-depth knowledge about the current state of the Bulgarian energy system, professional meetings with Bulgarian experts were arranged, as well as participation in training modules on energy diplomacy at the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This collaboration not only strengthens the ties between the two institutions but also provides an opportunity for students and faculty to broaden their horizons and learn about best practices and experiences in the field of energy economics.
