Doctoral student Simeon Lazarov took part in a doctoral seminar within the framework of the European Night of Scientists. The forum is for young scientists from different faculties of Sofia University where they present their research projects in the context of the new global challenges.

The seminar was held on September 30, 2023, and 14 foreign doctoral students from the Transform4Europe project, as well as 13 SU doctoral students, took part in it.

At the beginning of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Elisaveta Gurova briefly summarized the latest developments in EU policies for supporting young scientists and the key European initiatives for scientific careers. She presented the new competency framework for researchers, which is a useful tool in the career development and development of doctoral studies.

Svetlana Dimitrova demonstrated the Euraxess portal and the advantages of the international mentoring program. Dr. Hristo Iliev spoke about the EuroCC2 project and the possibilities for using the scientific infrastructure in Bulgaria and in European Union. He presented the mechanisms by which EU PhD students can use the Nestum and Discoverer supercomputers for scientific purposes, emphasizing that they are available to researchers in both the social sciences and the humanities.

During the event, the doctoral students presented their scientific work and shared their desired direction of development. According to the regulation, they had 3 minutes to explain their research, introduce their scientific groups, tell how they see their future development, and present their work in a wider context.

Simeon Lazarov shared his research on the digital transformation of organizations in Bulgaria and Europe, as well as the impact of related processes on the economy, society, and individuals.

Many opportunities for cooperation were found between the workshop participants. The event ended with a group photo and an invitation to all doctoral students to actively participate in the initiatives of the European University Alliances.
