In early October, the European consulting firm Frontier Economics and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) began a new collaboration. On October 28, 2021, a team of the company presented a guest lecture on "Markets and support mechanisms for biofuels" for students of the master's program "Energy Markets and Services" at FEBA. Victoria Peycheva and Lyubomir Georgiev from the London office of Frontier Economics presented in front of about 30 students.

In the first part of the lecture were presented key topics such as:

  • why governments have tools to support certain economic sectors,
  • what mechanisms are there in principle for internalising public spending and supporting biofuels,

In the second part of the lecture, the experts presented how in a specific project they have analyzed a specific tool to support biofuels, prepared forecasts for the development of biofuel prices and a recommendation on whether to invest in the sector.
