The first doctoral seminar at the “Finance and Accounting” department was held on 12.01.2023.

Desislava Petkova, who is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and is currently an assistant professor of finance, presented her work this past year as a PhD student in the PhD program “Finance, Financial Analysis and Financial Management”. Attendees learned about the main aspects of her publications, including the topics analyzed, the review of scientific literature, the research methods used, and the results achieved. She also shared some of the problems she faced, outlining the guidelines for her upcoming work on her doctoral dissertation.

Alexander Kamburov, also a graduate of FEBA and currently a doctoral student in the doctoral program “Accounting, Auditing and Analysis of Enterprise Activity”, presented to the members of the department a draft of his dissertation, including the project goals, tasks, methods and directions for his future research.

The scientific supervisor of Desislava Petkova – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marcelen Yovogan – and of Alexander Kamburov – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Iliana Ankova – shared their impressions of their work with the doctoral students and gave a positive assessment of the results they achieved in the first year of their doctoral studies.

During the resulting discussion, the doctoral students received valuable advice and guidance for their future research. Assoc. Prof. Yovogan, in his role as head of the department, wished them success in their second academic year and assured them that they would continue to have the support of all members of the department.
