Sofia University's Plan for Work on Environmental Protection and Reduction of the Consequences of Climate Change Related to Achieving High Resource and Energy Efficiency was published. The plan is in line with institutional European values ​​and standards and the principles of sustainable development, environmental institutional standards and environmental management systems ISO 14001.

It lays the foundations for the gradual development of high standards in line with global goals and standards of sustainable development. The climate plan is aimed at building a comprehensive strategy of the University for Sustainable Development, and is consistent with and includes realistic and feasible measures to advance the implementation of the 17 UN Global Sustainable Development Goals.

The plan was prepared by a working group consisting of: Prof. Eliza Stefanova, Vice-Rector for Information Activities and Academic Staff, Prof. Yana Topalova, Faculty of Biology, Prof. Maya Stoyneva, Faculty of Biology, Prof. Rosen Tsonev, Faculty of Biology, Assoc. Ventseslav Delov, Faculty of Biology, Assoc. Prof. Elisaveta Peneva, Faculty of Physics, Assoc. Prof. Stelian Dimitrov, Faculty of Geology and Geography, Ch. Assist. Prof. Atanas Grozdanov, Faculty of Biology, Maria Gureva, Career Development Sector, with the participation of Ch. Assist. Prof. Marina Stefanova, PhD, Head of the master's program "Responsible and Sustainable Governance" and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev.
