On June 2, the student medalists from Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), who won cups and medals from the National Student Olympiad in Mathematics (NSOM), placed their awards in the Showcase of Glory in front of the Dean's Office. This year SU "St. Kliment Ohridski" was the host of NSOM, which was held in the period May 12-14, 2023 in the city of Montana. This is the largest mathematical competition for students in Bulgaria and is organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science. Students from Sofia University won 6 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze medals.
Students from FEBA won 1 gold and 3 silver medals, as well as 1 bronze medal. Boyana Hristova took the gold medal; silver medals were awarded to Katya Nikolova, Nikolay Naydenov and Slavena Dudrenova, Ladelaida Lagadova was awarded bronze. The students placed their awards in the Showcase of Glory in the presence of their coaches and professors from SU "St. Kliment Ohridski": Assoc. Prof. Veselin Gushev, Prof. Geno Nikolov and Assist. Vaya Rakidzi from Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics and the Dean of FEBA - Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev.
The National Student Olympiad in Mathematics is a mathematics competition between students from bachelor's or master's programs, organized annually by higher schools in Bulgaria. The goal is to increase students' interest in mathematics and to create conditions for the exchange of experience among teaching teams.
92 students from 14 higher schools in the country participated in the competition, divided into three groups - "A", "B" and "C", determined by their professional direction. In group "B" of economics majors, the students from the team of FEBA, performed excellently.
