Assoc. Prof. Dr. Iya Petkova and Chief Assist. Dr. Ivan Angelov from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski” gave a series of lectures at UCLan University, Cyprus in the framework of the Erasmus + Teacher Mobility Program and discussed opportunities for joint participation in European research initiatives.

The beginning of the academic year for the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University began with a strong request to increase international cooperation with leading foreign universities and sustainable development of joint activities in academia and research. In the framework of the European program Erasmus +, lecturers from the Department of Business Administration of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration visited the leading university in Cyprus UCLan in the period September 27 - October 1. Within a week Assoc. Prof. Petkova and Chief Assistant Angelov gave a series of lectures in the field of strategic management, leadership and international business strategies to 3rd and 4th year management students. In addition to their academic presentations, the two scientists presented Sofia University and in particular the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, as an opportunity to implement mobility for training or teaching within the Erasmus + program, as well as some of the international projects implemented by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration - SCHOLARNET, UniverCity, etc.

On the last day of their visit, the two Bulgarian professors organized a workshop with students and professors from the University of Cyprus, which discussed various thematic areas in the context of the business climate in Bulgaria and opportunities for positioning successful entrepreneurial initiatives.

The Rector of UCLan, Prof. Dr. Panikos Puciuris, welcomed the two Bulgarian scientists and held a work meeting with them to discuss ideas for collaboration between the two universities, as well as potential opportunities for participation in various research initiatives.

During their visit Assoc. Prof. Petkova and Ch. Assistant Professor Angelov met with the Dean of the School of Management - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lucas Gliptis and with representatives of the academic staff of the university. They discussed new trends in teaching, both in terms of content and in the face of the challenges posed by the global pandemic.

The visit by Assoc. Prof. Petkova and Ch. Assistant Professor Angelov at the University of Cyprus UCLan is part of the activities included in the strategy to strengthen international cooperation and strengthen the image of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University as a leading training and research center in the field of economics and management.
