On January 18, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Zlatinov, head of the master’s program “Economy and Finance”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tsvetan Madanski, head of the master’s program “Customs and Tax Control”, and Dr. Stoyan Shalamanov, head of the master’s program “Business Economics”, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the National Revenue Agency Mr. Gavrail Zaburtov, Mrs. Rositsa Vasileva, head of the “Training” department in the “Management of Human Resources” Directorate at the Central Office of the National Revenue Agency, employees from the Human Resources Management Directorate, the Tax-Insurance Methodology Directorate, the Control Directorate and the Double Taxation Agreements Directorate. The meeting was held within the framework of the institutional agreement between Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the National Revenue Agency to develop the opportunities for specialized training in the master's programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA).

During the summer semester, specialists from the National Revenue Agency will participate as guest lecturers in compulsory and elective courses in the master’s programs “Economy and Finance”, “Customs and Tax Control”, “Business Economics”, “Economics and Law” and “Economics and management of public resources”, and students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills from their high expertise in matters arising from the country's tax and social security legislation, tax treatment and taxation, fiscal control and practical aspects of conducting fiscal policy, skills for work in public administration and effective communication. In practical terms, students will be able to familiarize themselves with specific procedures within the framework of tax control, excise policy, avoidance of double taxation and the application of legislation in this direction. For the students of the Faculty of Economics, opportunities for internship programs and practical training in the structures of the National Revenue Agency and access to materials from the rich and modern developed training program of the National Revenue Agency will be provided.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of cooperation and its development in mutual interest, with a view to the common mission of building highly qualified specialists in the public administration and for the needs of business.
