Dr. Daniel Nigohosyan (R2)

 

Daniel Nigohosyan is a postdoc at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration within Twin4eco project. He holds a PhD in Economics (2018) from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” where he completed a dissertation focused on the contribution of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to energy efficiency in Bulgaria. He also holds an MA in Political Science (2005) with a certificate in Comparative European Politics from the Central European University in Budapest and an additional MA in International Relations from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia (2003).

 

Daniel has served in several academic roles, most notably as an Assistant Professor at the University of World and National Economy (2009-2011), where he taught courses on EU project applications and foreign policy analysis. He also held a postdoctoral position at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Sofia University (2022-2023) within the national project “Young Researchers and Postdocs” of the Ministry of Education and Science, where he conducted research on the effectiveness and sustainability of SME grant support. His academic contributions include several publications on topics such as EU energy efficiency measures and program indicators.

 

Daniel Nigohosyan has an extensive professional background in consultancy and project management, particularly in the field of evaluation. He is currently a Principal Consultant and Head of the Better Regulation team at Ecorys in Brussels, where he has led and coordinated numerous projects. Throughout his career, he has managed and participated in a wide array of projects across Europe, focusing on areas such as energy efficiency, SME support, and public policy evaluation.
