On July 1-2, Utilities magazine and the Center for Educational Services (CES) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” organized a joint online training “Natural gas - infrastructure and regional markets”. More than 25 experts and managers from the energy sector took part in the certification course. The course was conducted through the zoom webinar platform.

The training was designed for managers and experts who wanted to deepen their knowledge of the natural gas market. Liberalization of the wholesale natural gas market leads to the entry of trading companies / intermediaries that manage their portfolio through long-term contracts and an organized market. Diversification of supply is associated with the construction of additional infrastructure, but policies regarding gas as a fuel for the transition to a low-carbon economy are debatable.

During the training, lectures and open discussions were held with the participants, in which they asked specific questions related to the topic of the course.

Lecturers in the training:

  • Boyana Achovski, Secretary General of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE);
  • Lorena Husseni, Head of Operational Development Department, Axpo Bulgaria EAD;
  • Pavlin Stoyanov, Deloitte Legal;
  • Julia Georgieva, Chief Expert for Natural Gas Supplies, Overgas Grids.
