Event Manager


GATE Institute is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Event manager to coordinate organizitation a and hosting of events that enhance GATE’s image, raise awareness and expand GATE’s ecosystem.

As an Event Manager at GATE, you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating events such as international research workshops and seminars, webinars, international conferences, information and open door days, hackathons, career and other relevant events.

You will manage the entire process from planning to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation. The ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, superb interpersonal skills, multi-tasking skills, and excellent time-management. The noteworthy Event Manager should enhance the organization's image and effectively deliver on event objectives.


Your responsibilities:

  • Plan and organise events with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Come up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success
  • Research and propose venues, suppliers and contractors
  • Book venues
  • Draft scenarios for the events and schedule speakers
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (for example: venue, stand or exhibition area, invitations, catering, travel)
  • Manage branding and communication
  • Liaise with the PR to publicise and promote the event
  • Coordinate with GATE partners
  • Assist in search for sponsors and prepare sponsorship packages
  • Work with event management agencies
  • Ensure event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur
  • Develop event feedback surveys
  • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports



  • Degree in PR, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management or related field is preferred;
  • Internship/professional experience – Acquired experience and professional experience of at least 3 years;
  • Required expertise:

- Portfolio of successful events will be considered as a strong advantage;

- Proficiency in MS Office;

- Great interpersonal and communication skills;

- Excellent oral and written English skills;

- Team player;

- Organisational skills and attention to detail;

- Negotiation skills when looking for the best price from venues, suppliers and contractors;

- Time-management skills and the ability to work under pressure to ensure the efficient running of an event;

- Self-motivation and enthusiasm.

Stages of the contest:

1.The Selection Committee reviews the documents, submitted by the candidates and selects those meeting the requirements of the job, as described in the job profile. The selected candidates will be informed by 20 February 2022.

2.Online interviews will be held with the selected applicants in the period 21 – 28 February 2022.

3.All interviewed candidates will be notified in writing.

4.The successful candidate will be offered a labour contract.
