The Department of Industrial Economics and Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" has actively affirmed its leading role in education and research in the field of climate neutrality in recent years. In support of its activities, the Department initiated the creation of the "Applied Research in the Field of Transition to Carbon Neutrality" Educational and Research Laboratory (Net-Zero Lab) with a decision by the Faculty Council (protocol No. 7/23.04.2024). The establishment of the Laboratory aims to create a scientific unit that, in collaboration with business and industry partners, will conduct techno-economic research with applications in new technologies and business models to achieve carbon neutrality goals in energy and industry.
The new research structure, Net-Zero Lab, strives to establish itself as a competent, transparent, and independent academic partner that contributes to shaping public opinion and providing expert consultation in creating economic policies based on reliable data and analyses. The laboratory's research focuses on the following three research directions:
Recognizing the crucial role of the private sector in the successful implementation of net-zero carbon emission initiatives, Net-Zero Lab is open to partnering with public and business organizations. In the long term, we believe that the established platform will be a conduit for technology transfer and a catalyst for initiatives in the field of clean energy, transforming industrial processes, and improving the sustainability of the supply chain.
Become our partner to leave a lasting mark on innovation, clean energy, and sustainable social and corporate practices. Together we can build a greener and more sustainable tomorrow!
