The rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov and the Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Public Accountants (ICPA) Boyko Kostov signed a cooperation agreement. The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boryana Bogdanova, Deputy Dean of Business Partnerships and Graduate Student Community at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Stancheva, Head of the master's program “Accounting and Auditing” at FEBA and Mr. Velin Filipov, vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of ICPA.
The agreement will contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of economics, management, finance, accounting and auditing, as well as the analysis and modeling of big data in business by increasing their theoretical knowledge and developing practical skills.
It is planned to update the curricula of the disciplines taught in the bachelor's and master's programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, according to the current needs of business, including the introduction of new courses and specialties; presentation of real cases from practice and their inclusion in the learning process; delivering practice-oriented presentations in the field of economics, management and big data modeling in business and finance; providing student internships and visits, supporting career guidance and motivating students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
Joint specialized trainings, round tables, conferences and other events are also planned according to the needs of the practice, including in line with postgraduate qualifications. According to the agreement, it is also planned to promote the partnership and joint initiatives, as well as the professions in the field of finance and investments. It is also planned to improve the material environment of the educational process in accordance with the needs of teaching in the field of finance, economics and management, as well as assistance in establishing scholarships for students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
