Dr. Rumyana Grozeva, executive director of the Agency for Regional Economic Development in Stara Zagora, was a guest on December 1st to the masters from the “Energy Markets and Services” program at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The hybrid guest lecture took place within the module related to the global goals for sustainable development, the negotiation process within the framework of COP27 and the challenges for regions in transition.


Dr. Grozeva presented the topic “Just transition for the coal regions – following the example of Stara Zagora”. She talked to the students about the economic processes in the region of Stara Zagora, about the challenges of the energy transition from a regional point of view, as well as about the latest low-carbon projects that are about to be realized around the “Maritsa East” complex.
