On April 11, representatives of Junior Achievement Bulgaria were guests at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and presented to the students of various specialties the opportunity to join the educational activities of the "Panda Labs Junior for a fair transition" project.

This is an international project uniting the efforts of WWF Bulgaria, Junior Achievement Bulgaria, WWF Serbia, Junior Achievement North Macedonia and Eco Team Montenegro. It aims to engage students from coal regions in these four countries, as well as students from outside these regions, to participate in the creation of innovative concepts for green businesses, green entrepreneurship and alternative development after the closure of fossil fuel power plants. They are incompatible with the climate crisis and the collective efforts of countries around the world to limit the increase in global temperatures and concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

The specific opportunity for university students is to participate in an inter-university course on "My Startup Solutions for Nature" at the end of April, followed by a two-day hackathon to generate innovative ideas on 13 and 14 May. More than 80 students from different specialties of the Faculty of Economics were introduced to the opportunity to enroll in the free five-day course and increase their knowledge on topics such as climate change, plastic pollution, loss of biodiversity, sustainable development, circular economy and green entrepreneurship. The course itself started on April 21 in Sofia Tech Park. The second weekend of the course will be held on April 28 and 30 at the Junior Achievement Bulgaria office at 54B Dondukov Blvd.

If they wish to participate only in the second part of the course and in the hackathon, students can contact Vera Petkantchin from JA Bulgaria by email: vera.petkantchin@jabulgaria.org, until April 26.
