On May 17, 2025 the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy was a co-host of the third final round of the VI remote competition ScienceMeUp. The competition is an annual initiative of the organization Science Me Up (University for kids) in partnership with Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. This year it took place in the period April 12 – May 18, 2025. More than 700 pupils from fifth to seventh grade competed by solving out-of-the-box challenging problems in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Eight competitors from each scientific area were admitted to the final round to solve practical problems on-site at the laboratories of Sofia University. The finalists in Chemistry carried out interesting experiments prepared and guided by Assoc. Prof. Lachezar Hristov.

The award ceremony of the winners in each category took place on May 18, 2025 г. at the Faculty of Physics of Sofia University. It was attended by the organizers from Science Me Up (University for kids) headed by Mr. Yavor Kiryakov, The President of the “Evrika” Foundation, the Deans of the Faculty of Physics and Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, teachers from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, the Faculty of Physics, the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy and the Faculty of Biology, participants in the competition and their parents.

The winner with full score in category Chemistry is Boris Chi, 7. Grade. Way to go, Boris!
