Though The Faculty of Education offers this course for only ten years, more than 1000 native and foreign students have undertaken the advantage to graduate it. They are attracted by the unique opportunities to be trained as social workers in the numerous social work settings as well as to gain proficiency in managing, counseling and investigating this extremely diverse and complex but at the same time constantly appealing the public interest sphere of life. Our students are in the privileged position to hear lectures from the best Bulgarian specialists in low, economics, sociology, psychology, medicine, ethics, education, etc. This solid academic background is not separated from the acquisition of practically oriented skills and experiences.

The undergraduates of social work course spend a significant part of their learning time in specialized institutions. They discuss and share experience with practitioners, practice under supervision, carry out assisted or independent team and individual research. After the 4th term they choose between social work with children, occupational social work and clinical social work profiles.

The graduation exams are written theoretical exam (BA thesis also possible) and professional practice exam.
