On April 26, 2025, to celebrate Earth Day and Pontica Community Day 2025, volunteers from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University and its long-standing partner, Pontica Solutions, came together to clean and improve the park area in front of Block 3 at the university’s East Campus.
The event opened with a short address by Denimir Dimitrov, owner of Zero Wave Ltd., who introduced participants to sustainable practices such as composting, waste separation, and reducing everyday waste.
The initiative welcomed everyone, including families and friends. Organizers provided all necessary materials, and volunteers actively cleaned the area around the Faculty — including green spaces and pathways. Beyond litter collection, the group trimmed bushes, refreshed walkways, and planted flowers to brighten the space.
All collected waste was handed over to the team behind the Flowers for Waste campaign, which the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration joined. The campaign promotes waste separation and environmental protection.
This event was not just a clean-up — it was an inspiring example of how community effort can make a meaningful impact. The result: a cleaner, more colorful, and more welcoming university environment for students, faculty, and visitors. The Faculty now stands not only as a cleaner space but also as a symbol of how academic communities can lead the way in environmental responsibility.
The initiative is part of Pontica’s long-term commitment to sustainability, under the banners #wesupportthePLANET and #wesupporttheYOUNG.
