On 3 November the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev participated in the International Conference “China-CEEC Cooperation: Review and Prospect” which took place in Warsaw, Poland. Assoc. Prof. Georgiev presented the topic “Innovations and Tech Transfer Opportunities for Decarbonisation in Industry, Energy, and Transportation” during Session 1 “Experience and potential of pragmatic cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries”.

During his speech Assoc. Prof. Georgiev presented the opportunities for cooperation between Chinese and CEE companies as well as the activities of Sofia University related to FEBA, its “Net-Zero Lab” and its “China Economy and Politics” Centre. Also, in his role as director of the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Institute, Assoc. Prof. Georgiev commented on the need to work on energy innovations. They are also among the topics in the largest project implemented by FEBA – TWIN4ECO.

According to Assoc. Prof. Georgiev the EU Green Deal with its vast scope, as well as the Green Deal Industrial Plan of the new European Commission in the current global context may provide more opportunities for business and collaboration between China and CEE countries.
